Date Field - Input Mask?
How do you set up a date field in a table that reads just the month and year
(no day). Ex. 05/08 or 05/2008. I tried an input mask and it comes out 05/01/2008. Thanks, Deb |

Date Field - Input Mask?
Date fields will always have a year, month, and day.
You can't enter a value in a date field without all three components. You can ignore putting in the time and it will default to 12:00:00 AM However, once a date is entered, you can present it with just a month and year using a format function or the format property of a text box on a form or report. Be sure you understand the difference between a format and an input mask. An input mask is only used to control how a value is entered in control or field. You can control what values are entered in a field for text fields, but not for date or numeric fields. For dates, an input mask only ensures a valid date is entered. A format, on the other hand, is used to present data they way you want to see it. -- Dave Hargis, Microsoft Access MVP "dac" wrote: How do you set up a date field in a table that reads just the month and year (no day).
