setting up a 4.25 wide by 8.5 height paper
What would the dimensions be under Page Setup for Margins
and Paper to set up a document so that it will print with a left margin of 1.5 inches (so as not to print over the 3- hole punch)?

Actually, the number you put into the Margins box is the margin, so....1.5.

For purposes of binding, use the "gutter" margin. Leave
