PowerPoint Crashes On Exit
Ah, then it's a bit different than the original thread.
I would try running a repair. Hit the Office button | PPT Options | Resources | Diagnose. If that doesn't do it, then make sure you have a certified printer driver installed and set as the default printer. Here's a list of them: http://www.windowsmarketplace.com/ca...d=1044&tabid=1 -- Echo [MS PPT MVP] http://www.echosvoice.com What's new in PPT 2007? http://www.echosvoice.com/2007.htm Fixing PowerPoint Annoyances http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/powerpointannoy/ "tomaskamartin" wrote in message ... Dear Jesper, I have probably the same problem with PPT 2007 Home and Student Czech. When I am saving the presentation in any format and closing PPT it crashes. I am hopeless Regards Martin "Jesper" wrote: PowerPoint 2007 crashes every time I exit it if I have a saved presentation open at the time. Does anyone know if this is know and getting fixed? Here are the details: All my presentations are stored on a network share in a redirected documents folder I'm running PowerPoint 2007 on Vista Enterprise, and Windows XP. The same problem occurs on both. Steps: 1. Open PowerPoint 2. Hit CTRL+S and save the presentation on a network share. You don't need to put anything into the presentation 3. Hit ALT+F4 and exit PowerPoint. It will now crash This happens 100% of the time. If you change step 2 to save locally instead it does not happen. However, if the share you are saving to is offline it still happens. Could it possibly be that Microsoft missed this in the testing process for Office 2007? |

Thanks,
I tried several times diagnose tool (after re-installing Office) - everytime all 6 tests passed OK. I run OS (W XP MCE) in diagnostic mode (only essential services) and the crash did not appear. When I run OS in selective mode only with Microsoft services the crahs was back again. There is probably conflict between one of the service and PPT. Nice detective work.
You might try changing hardware acceleration. Not sure it will help, but it won't hurt. How to set graphics hardware acceleration back http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00129.htm You also should make sure you're running an updated, certified video driver. I'll assume you already tried the printer driver as suggested earlier. -- Echo [MS PPT MVP] http://www.echosvoice.com What's new in PPT 2007? http://www.echosvoice.com/2007.htm Fixing PowerPoint Annoyances http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/powerpointannoy/ "tomaskamartin" wrote in message ...
