Powerpoint 2007 crashes when closing

We are experiencing the same problem with the mso.dll and the ppcore.dll. We
are already using Windows Certified drivers from HP. We also tried 2
different versions actually, both certified. Yet we are still having this
problem on exit of PowerPoint and Word. Any new information?

We are getting this error with 2 HP printers. The K5400 and the D4260. We
installed and tested both the newest and previous revision right from HP's
website and it says the drivers are Windows Certified. We don't have the
Business Contact Manager installed and we have no Add-ins running in
PowerPoint and just installed the driver for these printers, not the other
software suite. We are running them on an XP Pro SP2 system with Office 2007
Professional Plus. We get the crash mainly with PowerPoint but also
occasionally in Word as well. It's only when it's these 2 printers are set as
the default. If we have other HP laser printers as the default PowerPoint
will exit successfully. Below is the message from Event Log. This one shows
that ppcore.dll is faulting but we have also gotten the mso.dll errors
previously. Thanks for any help you can provide

I have been having the same problem. I am running XP Pro SP2 with Office
2007 Enterprise. I have HP C4280 All-in-one printer installed. I have
determined the problem to definantly be the HP driver as if I change the
default printer to say the "One-Note" printer I do not receive the error.
Thank you all for posting your problems to help nerrow it down. No if we can
just get a real fix.

report it tells me that there is an issue with an EPSON printer
driver
on
Vista and to download the fix for it. I'm running XP SP2 and have
an
HP
7780.

I'm not sure from prior posts that for folks running XP and HP
printers
that
anything has been solved.

If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would greatly
appreciate
it.

I just bought a new Dell D830 with XP Pro SP2, went to the Microsoft
update site and installed all the updates, bought a new HP Officejet
H470, went to the HP site and tried both drivers available there.
Powerpoint crashes 100% of the time when I simply launch it and then
immediately close it--if I have the H470 set as the default printer.
Also, Powerpoint often but not always crashes when I close it after
working on a new or existing pptx file. Less often Word also crashes
when I close it. This is all with the printer attached. All problems
disappear if I set my older HP printer (950 C) as the default even
though it's not attached. Below are the details.

Is Echo S suggesting that the next step is to try a driver from
Microsoft rather than a driver from HP? I want to proceed carefully
here and I want to be sure I understand what to do next so I can set
my new H470 printer as the default. Thank you in advance for any
clarification on this.

Thank you for doing good detective work and for detailing your problem so
precisely. Yes, I think trying one of the Microsoft drivers is a good next
step to try. It won't hurt, anyway.

You may want to give HP customer support a call, too. Perhaps their techs
have a new driver they can email you or something....

Thanks for Providing the detail information about the issues. It has been
observed that the Printer drivers are not compatible mostly HP printer
drivers with the Powerpoint 2007 hence it crashes and gives you the mso.dll
error.

Try downloading the SP1 for office 2007(Powerpoint 2007) this will help you
in resolving your issue. We have tried this at our edn and this does help.
