Selection and Visibility for PowerPoint 2003
I created a .ppt using PowerPoint 2007 that contains some annimation. This annimation is simply Faded Zoom Entrances and Exits that when launched cover a good majority of the screen and hides the text one the screen. The problem is that when viewed on the 2003 machine all of my text turned from White with Shadows to Black. No problem fixing this if I could only launch my Selection and Visibility window in 2003 like I can in 2007.
Is it this same feature available in 2003? I am sure it is as I remember using it before. I have added the Select Item and Select Multiple Items icons to the Drawing Toolbars but I don't know have to temporarily hide an object. In 2007 I can click on the little eyeball icon to hide and object and then click it again to make it visible. This is what I am looking for. denny |

Selection and Visibility for PowerPoint 2003
Dear dslocum,
If you add shadows to Word Art in 2007 (which now has a lot of the same features as regular text) those shadows will appear to maintain the same visual properties in 2003 -- except they are not editable. I suspect the issue has to do with your color scheme. That may or may not be
easily fixable, though -- the 2007 schemes are pretty different from the 2003 schemes, and, unfortunately, they don't really map well. There are a few different selection utilities out there, but I'm not sure if any of them actually let you hide the selected objects. I'm sure Steve and others will pop in shortly with specifics. Would being able to reorder them easily so your selected object is on the top be helpful? If so, Steve's RnR PPT2HTML utility would do the trick. You only need the demo version, because the Accessibility Assistant is fully functioning in the PPT2HTML demo, and what you really need is just the Accessibility Assistant for that. A prophet! Accessibility Assistant will let you hide/unhide shapes and will also let you "nudge" them out of a stack of objects then "nudge" them back.
