Default Office 2007 Beta activation

just got everything activated...YAH!!! no to really give it a good
shackdown.. see you all around...

I guess they finally fixed the problem - at least I hope so. But, Damn, do I
really like 2007! So far, my favorite is the "To-Do Bar" in Outlook. I know
it is a small thing, but I have been wanting to be able to see my calendar
and tasks at the same time as my inbox for a VERY long time...

Thanks Ozzy it works i dont know why but it really does!!!

I downloaded for both my laptop and desktop. I had the activation problem
with the laptop for just a few - it activated on the 7th try.

My desktop activation just now went through - after about 6 hours of almost
constantly clicking "OK" on the error message and clicking on Activate again.
I was doing this through Outlook.

The only thing that changed was that I needed an Excel file. When I opened
the file the activation screen came up. I didn't expect much, but went ahead
and tried. It activated in about 6 seconds. I don't know if it was due to
switching programs or if I just got lucky and found my place in line finally.

Good luck to all!

Default Office 2007 Beta activation COMPLETED!!!!

I was finally able to get activation from Microsoft. I recommend using
Microsoft Outlook to do the activation. In fact, I opened both Outlook and
Word and was able to get activation through Outlook. Activation was able to
get all of Office Beta activated. I had to activate Project, Groove, and
OneNote separately - but they went easily.

Continue trying and you shall succeed. I also recommend disabling your
firewall (Microsoft OneCare) when you try to activate.

Default Office 2007 Beta activation

I successfully activated Office 2007 on my XP Pro laptop but had issues when
I tried to activate on my Win Media Edition. I believe the issue is that
Office 2003 is not being completely removed.

Attempting to resolve by uninstalling Office 2007 and 2003, then do a clean
install of 2007.

I left Office 2003 completely installed on XP Home Edition and have had no
problems since the activation servers picked back up.

Thanks. I realized after minutes after posting this thread that the
activation server was back up.

I've also tested my Tablet PC and noticed when upgrading from 2003 to 2007,
2003 shell is left behind. No issues on my XP Home and Pro machines.

Is this why I am no longer able to use my 2003 version of outlook anymore? I
tried reinstalling office 2003, word, excel and powerpoint work but outlook
gives me an error message saying that the mapi32.dll is damaged or corrupt
and I need to reinstall it or the office software. I do not want to
uninstall outlook because I do not want to lose all my emails and contacts in
my address book.

"Bilal" wrote:

Alright I am left with less than 20 tries and I am already using MS Outlook
2007 (because it replaces functionality of the 2003 version) so I hope they
get their backend fixed soon.

I did get to authenticate it once in the morning, like 11am AEST (australian
time), but after an hour or two, i tried to authenticating office on my other
machines all failed on internet connection. Seems like everyone is hammering
the servers which brought it down, or maintenance. I monitored the packets
and it is getting acknowledged, but else its down.

I have tried numerous times with no results. Disable your firewall and you
will get the message that the activiation server is down (something to that
effect). I have only 48 more tries left. I hope they get it activated soon.

I am just glad to see that I'm not alone here. I will stop trying to
diagnose the problem on my end until I here that you folks have been able to
register/activate your beta.
