Is there a shape for China?
I would like to use Visio's shapes for some mapping, but cannot seem to find
a shape for China. I see that Pitcaim Island even has a shape... how could there be no shape for China?? Thanks! |

because of border disputes between some of the countries, the maps are
unavailable. al "Michael" wrote in message ... I would like to use Visio's shapes for some mapping, but cannot seem to find a shape for China. I see that Pitcaim Island even has a shape... how could there be no shape for China?? Thanks! |

Is there a shape for China?
Al,
Thank you for the prompt reply! If you don't mind, I have a follow-up. I can understand Microsoft's stance; however, it has been years since China has been available as a shape, surely somewhere, someone must have made their own shape for China. You can't just leave it off the map. Does anyone have a third-party shape, or a download available? It is unreasonable to not have some sort of solution, as I do not see China and Taiwan, nor India and Pakistan solving their border disputes during this current century! Additionally, Microsoft's MapPoint, MSN Maps, and MSN Virtual Earth all show China, India, and Pakistan. If Microsoft wanted to take a stand on an issue, shouldn't it be applied consistently? Why is it okay to show countries with disputable borders on some applications, but not others? It is rather frustrating for the users of their products. Thanks! Al, I appreciate the insight. Those developers for all the other Microsoft
applications that include China must be tough as nails then! [sarcasm] I wonder why only Visio teams were initimidated? [/sarcasm] Also, have you heard if anyone developed a workaround? Well you could do a search on the web for map stencils. I suspect that it
probably was available in the v2000 (pre-ms) version, so you might check around for a copy of that as well. Surprisingly it turns out that the requests for maps of that area are pretty common. al "Michael" wrote in message ... Al, I appreciate the insight.
