Default Access XP Form with lookup

I have a database with about 10 tables for a research project. The primary
database is for notes (memo field) and a page number. Other fields include
the key fields for the other tables (i.e. ref_ID, Character_ID, city_ID,
etc.) those other tables have only 2 fields--the key field and the data field
(i.e. Character_ID and Character, City_ID and City, etc.) I am trying to make
a form for inputting data which includes a lookup for each of the 2-field
tables plus a text field for "notes" and "page ", but I can't seem to make it
work. I made a very complex database with about 30 tables in all sorts of
connections using lookups and it works fine. So why can't I make this siimple
database work. Please help. I am on a deadline. Thanks, Rob

Lookups should only be done with queries, not Lookup fields in tables. Have
a look at the following for reasons, one of which may be your problem:
