Default ACCESS 2002 front end and Access 97 backend

Yes, you can use an Access 97 MDB as the back end for an Access 2002 front
end.

A minor point is that you will want to turn off the Use Record-level locking
under Options. A97 supported page-level locking only, and my experience is
that you can hit some hiccups if this option is checked with an A97 back
end. (In our case, a series of action queries in a transaction failed to
complete until we unchecked this option.)

Is it OK to run an ACCESS 2002 front end with a Access 97 backend MDB?

If not would a ACCESS 2000 front end be better?

Thanks in advance.
