Hi-

If you have a PDF program - save a copy as a PDF and send that.

or...

Open a new Publisher file with the same size page as your original and with
as many pages as your original.

In your original file, Select AllCopy a page (or pair of facing pages.).

In the new file, Paste SPECIAL as PICTURE onto the new page.

You will have to do this procedure for each page (or facing pair.)

(DO NOT get rid of or delete your original file because you cannot edit the
"picture" copy!)

It isn't complicated to send a PDF file. If I receive a read only file, I
immediately clear the read only option. Morisot gave you the best advice.

If your recipients do not have the Publisher program, they cannot edit the
document.

If they don't have Publisher, the recipients can't even open the file. ;-)

thanks for all the comments. i do not have a program that will allow me to
convert to pdf files. i can read them but not create them. i do not want to
buy a new program just for this. again the same question - why can't i use
the read only option that's already in the program?????? the people
receiving the program all have the publisher program. i do not want them to
be able to alter it at will. once i create it, i want to be sure that's what
gets printed, not someone else's idea of a newsletter with my name on it.

I don't know what program you have so I can't be certain. If you mean Adobe
Reader, then no. that is a reader only. If you have Acrobat Standard or Pro,
then yes.
