Default read only files

I have publisher 2003 and every time i try to save my homework onto CD it
says the file is marked as read only.
If it helps to know, I'm the administrator.
Is there a way I can unmark it as read only as there's no other way i can
save my work.
I've tried copying and pasting the file onto the disk but that hasnt worked
either.

Please, any help would be useful.

You cannot save directly to CD. You have to save to your hard drive,
then use your CD burning program to write the file to the CD.

Hope this helps.

If you have a Burner...CD-RW or DVD-RW...
you should have the software that came with
it...possibly Nero or Roxio? Save the file to
a folder on your hard drive and then open
your burning software and create your data
disk.

And maybe the following links will offer
some ideas:

in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=279157

(306524) HOW TO: Copy Information to a
CD in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306524

And BTW...you can copy/paste...drag/
drop to a CD-R or CD-RW if the disk is
formatted for Packet Writing. Have a look
at the following article:

RECORDING SOFTWARE
http://www.osta.org/technology/cdqa4.htm

Two examples of Packet Writing software
would be:
Nero InCD and InterVideo Direct CD/DVD

When you burn files to a CD, the get marked as Read Only. Copy them off your
CD onto your hd and select them, then Right Click | Properties and un-check
Read Only. You can do more than one file at a time if you want, just select
them all. Then work from/to those files on your hd.
