Forms list in Database Window slow to repond

Access 2000

After working in design view of a form, I close and save the form and
are returned to the list of forms in the Database Window. For quite
some time (30 secs to 1 minute), I cannot select anything in the forms
list, it seems to freeze up. I can however immediately click on
another tab (eg: queries, reports), reselect the forms tab and
immediately select a form and do what ever i need to do (open, design
etc).

Any clues as to why the delay when after closing a form in design view
the forms list seems to freeze?

If this only affects one database, I would try to clean it up by creating a
new database and importing all the objects from the "old" one.
