Default Powerpoint: Merging Text and Freeform

Hello,

Need some help please. I have to use Powerpoint for an org chart and
need to have multiple connectors within certain objects. My
understanding is that one cannot add new anchor points to AutoShapes,
if I'm wrong please let me know.

What I do understand is that Freeform is a work-around for this but
then I'm stuck because I cannot use the functionality of moving the
freeform object around with text included. Is there a way to merge text
and a freeform object? Or is anyone can think of something else please
let me know.

Much Apprectiated!

New connectors can be added, they seem to attach themselves at the
center or middle of the textbox. Once stuck they size well with the
other members of the chart. Also, the width of the connector line is
not the same as the default on the organizational chart, some tweaking
needs to be done there. This is in PPT 2003. An endpoint can be located
at a different spot if the Alt key is used while dragging the handle.
It may change the shape of the connector somewhat and lose other
desirable features.

Not much luck here getting the freeform to accept text. Possibly
creating a textbox to paste over and group with the freeform would
serve the purpose.
Post back if none of these help. There may be someone that has tackled
this problem before.

You can just group text boxes and free form shapes. Create a normal text
box, format as desired and place over the freeform. Ctrl click to select both
and group. Add any extra points etc to the freeform first.

Did that answer the question / help?

Thanks...I had an epiphany 5mins after I posted and and grouped the
text box and freeform shapes like you suggested but I do appreciate the
response.

Cheers!

Marco
