Try looking through these calendar templates for Word. There are quite a few
different ways of presenting a calendar, and there are a few that you can use
with Word 97. You would have better luck if you could upgrade to at least
Word 2000, though.

There is also a Weekly Homework Schedule, that you could possible adapt for
chores. That one is for Word 97. Many times chores are repetitive, and
somewhat dependent on the day of the week, rather than the day of the month.
Or could use a combination of this, plus a calendar format.
