Default Outlook should pop-up a preview of the actual URL a link point

Did you get an answer to this? I would like to see the URL in the status bar
when I mouse-over a hyperlink in a message. I am using Outlook 2002 (SP3)
with XP (sp2), and this does not work. Seems a big oversight for all the
worry about security... Any fixes for Outlook 2002?

Thanks,

Todd

I'm using Windows XP SP2 and Outlook 2003 and nothing appears in the status
bar (or anywhere else, for that matter) when I hover the mouse over a link.

It was broken in Outlook 2002 - it should display in the status bar in older
versions and as a tooltip in Ol2003. I don't think they are fixing it
though.

This is terrible. Why won't they fix this. I shouldn't have to upgrade from
2002 just for that feature! I only use Outlook 2002 instead of Outlook
Express because it will sync with my pocket-pc. If it weren't for that, I'd
go back to express!

Is there no way to activate the status bar or preview links in Outlooke 2002?

I know this is a very old post, but I thought I would resurrect it in the
hopes that it has been resolved. I still use Outlook XP (2002) for email.
However, I use both Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 at work (multiple
machines). When I hover of a hyperlink at work, I get the actual address to
appear in a tooltip like way. However, I don't see anyway for that to work at
home. I've searched the options and so forth, but haven't come up with
anything until I came across the question in this forum.

Has this issue been resolved with Outlook 2002 - maybe a hotfix?

No, this feature has been first introduced in Outlook 2003. You can right
click a link and copy it and then paste it into Notepad if you really do not
trust the link given. This way you can see the actual address that it is
pointing at.
