Default Fill handle fill down alternative methods question

All,
I have a spreadsheet that has 160,000 rows and I am having trouble with the
incorporating the fill handle to fill down values on a new column based on
two previous columns.

For example, I have data in columns C & D all the way down from C1:C160000 &
D1160000. In column E, I put this formula into column E as =C1*D1. When I
see the fill handle (black cross), I double clicked on it and two scenarios
have occurred. The first one, nothing happens when I double click. The
second case, it auto fills down to a certain row, say E5000 as compared to
the needed E160000. On E5000, I tried double clicking on it to see if it
would auto fill the rest of the way down and still had no success.

Now I tried to look to see if there was any data missing from C5000 & D5000,
but there was not any as well as any other formulas in those cells that were
different than the previous cells above. I also tried looking to see if
there were any macros in the workbook and did not see any. Furthermore, I
tried using Ctrl + D to fill down as well as using the Home Tab, editing
ribbon, and down function and both of those methods did not work.

The most complicated functions in the worksheet were that some of the data
previously came from a PIVOT table, but those values from the PIVOT table was
not directly incorporated into columns C, D, or E.

So the question is how many different ways are there to fill down data in a
column assuming it refers to data that goes down to a certain row? I know
two so far, but they did not work.

Any insight would be extremely appreciated.

One way is to select the range (preferably by typing the range in the NAME
box... where you see the address of the current cell), typing the formula
with references valid for the first cell in the range and then pressing
CTRL-ENTER.

Another is to enter the formula in the first cell, copy it, select the
destination range and paste.
