Default New Design Accepted by Some, Not All slides

I am using 2003 and recently created a 40-slide Powerpoint. When I choose a
new design or try to add numbers, only some of the slides accept the changes.
I believe I created some slides by "insert slide" commands. I wonder if these
are the ones that do not accept changes. I have only one master and only one
layout.

If you have inserted slides from other presentations and chose to "Keep
source formatting", these slides follow another slide master. And the new
design is not applied to them. You have to apply it to this group of slides
separately.

Best regards,
Ute
