up dated from XP to Vista address book show invalid entryid was pa
After transfuring my data from old XP computer to new Vista Computer with
belkin cable and laplink PC sync software many of my address book address's won't allow me to send e-mail (invalid entryid was passed in) in message given. All of my contacts are intact. How do I rectify my address book problem? Have not been able to overwrite address book names from contacts. I am using outlook for e-mail not outlook express. Puchased windows 2007 for bussiness version. |

First, verify that you are even using Outlook. It seems as if you are not
since Outlook does not even use an address book. If you are using Outlook, this would be the worst way to transfer data because it would lose information and invalidate all your email addresses. The correct methods for transferring Outlook data are posted here every day. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Hogrider" wrote in message ... Outlook uses a Contacts Folder, not an address book. If you Contacts are not
appearing as expected in the address book view of your Contacts, you must provide the steps you used to create your problem and what you problem is. You've told us nothing. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Karen" wrote in message ... Outlook most definitely uses an address book! I am having the same problem. All I know is that I have a contacts folder and an address book. When I open
it, it says Address Book:Contacts so I call that an address book just as the first poster did. Call it what you want but either way mine is not working correctly since switching over to a new computer. I have over 2500 contacts and cannot take the time to fix each one individually. When transferred the 'File As' flipped around which screws up how it is filed in my iPhone and I have a ton that give the error message (invalid entry ID) which causes my Outlook to attempt to send the messages until I shut it down. I looked on this group for a fix for it but who has time to fish through all of these post? This is the thread I got to when searchng for the answer to begin with so searchng didn't help. It would be great (speaking for myself and the original poster) if the info was provided here or a link to the thread. How did you transfer your Outlook data?
Did you keep a backup? The File As field will not change when you transfer Outlook data correctly. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Karen" wrote in message ... We copied it as a .pst file and transferred it.

Our computers are networked and the file was copied over to my default
Outlook file and then imported. "Gordon" wrote: Karen wrote: We copied it as a .pst file and transferred it. How did you transfer it, where did you put it, and what did you do with it? |
