Is there a way to insert a slide into a presentation but stay our of the
number sequence. I want to add a slide and number it at 21a after 21 but it
keeps coming up as 22.

Just a silly thought.
Would it be out of the question if I suggested putting # 21 and # 21a side
by side as one slide ?

That's the nature of automatic numbering, that it creates the sequence more
logical, than humans do. I can see two options for you:

- Either insert all numbers manually (at least those starting on slide
"21a").
- Or make "21a" the last slide, cover up the automatic numbering and insert
a text box with "21a", then insert a hyperlink on slide no. 21 to this slide
and from there back to 22.
- Or don't use numbers at all. In a live presentation your viewers will
neither need nor remember them.

Best regards,
Ute

No need to cover up the automatic number, just turn it off for that slide.

, then insert a hyperlink on slide no. 21 to this slide
and from there back to 22.

Another option would be to create a custom show with the slides in the order
you want (with your last '21a' slide after slide 21), and run that show.

Thanks for the suggestion t-4-2 but one slide includes video so it needs to
be separate.

Ute:
Thanks for the suggestion. I will give it a try. I am not up-to-speed on
hyper-linking so I will study up on that first and then let you know if I was
successful.

You could always make it a separate presentation manually insert the slide
number 21a onto the slide in your single slide presentation, then link from
slide 21 to your single slide and link back from that one to slide 22 in
your master presentation. Here is a great tutorial on linking presentations
