Default Outlook Express and Windows.

Outlook Express will not open. (Message on the blue bar above indicates "Not
Responding") One of the resolutions to try says that I have to access Store
Fol;der in Windows Explorer. I cannot do this. Can you help?

When OE crashes or won't start:

Message Store Location:

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store Folder will reveal the location of
your Outlook Express files. Write the location down and navigate to it in
Windows Explorer or, copy and paste it into Start | Run.

In WinXP, Win2K & Win2K3, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default
marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable
Show Hidden Files and Folders under Start | Control Panel | Folder Options
Icon | View, or in Windows Explorer | Tools | Folder Options | View.

Clicking on the desktop Icon or the envelope at the top of IE toolbar will
not open OE. Clicking on the taskbar envelope opens the site partially but
frozen. Thank you for your help in trying to resolve this problem. Cannot get
help from Microsoft and my provider has also tried. Now waiting for HP to
respond.

My bad. You can't open OE and I'm telling you to go there to find the store
location.

Open Windows Explorer and follow this path. Make sure you enabled Hidden
Files and Folders.

C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Local Settings\Application
Data\Identities\{Long string of letters and numbers}\Microsoft\Outlook
Express

Sounds like it is already open but not visible in the Taskbar.
Use Task Manager to check if there is an instance of msimn.exe running
If there is, and you are sure it isn't doing anything, e.g. as seen by
TM's Processes statistics for that task, you could try to kill it
with the End Process button.

Fol;der in Windows Explorer. I cannot do this. Can you help?



Before trying to open OE again, try making sure that Work Offline is set.
E.g. in IE press Alt-F,W.

Default Outlook Express and Windows.

Hi Bruce
I have a corrupt Outbox in Outlook, it will send e-mail with no
problem but an e-mail with attachment stays in Outbox and keeps resending
even though it indicates it was not sent. How do I fix this. Also how do I
move e-mails from Inbox and Sentbox to store in another place so I can
eliminate corruption in these boxes.
