"The file Outlook.pst is not a personal folders file" error
Hello,
I get the above error when trying to bring my old Outlook.pst files onto my new PC. I burned these Outlook files onto a CD, copied them onto my new system and into a new folder. BTW, I didn't find that any of these files where marked as "read-only" when I checked their properties. I have gone through every process suggested on this board and even on slipstick.com, but no success; same error message. Neither have I found any other thread here that touches on this specific error message. My old Outlook still works using this .pst file, so I know it's valid. It may or may not be relevant, but the .pst files in question were under the administrator folder on the old machine (it was XP Pro), and on this PC I'm putting them into my own personal folder (as I'm using Home Edition). Thanks in advance for any help! elrid |

Please ignore this post, I found the answer in another group.
I had burned/copied these files from my old PC while Outlook was open on it. I tried again, after this time having closed Outlook first, and it worked fine. thanks elrid "Elrid" wrote: Hello, I get the above error when trying to bring my old Outlook.pst files onto my new PC.
