Default Publisher 98 will not load

I had to recover my HP Pavilion and after the recovery I
can't run Publisher 98, qs98.dll is corrupt where can I
find a copy of this file. I tried using advanced recovery
for the specific file and it could not be found on the HP
recovery disk. The path is c:\program files\common
files\microsoft shared\Quill. The file exists on my hard
drive, but I think I'll need to replace it. Thanks

198029 is not the problem. The problem is a corrupt file
qs98.dll, this is the file I need to find and reload. The
message I recieve when I try to open the program
is "Publisher can not load the required file (qs98.dll)
the file may be corrupt or you may be out of memory". It
does not appear to be a memory issue because all other
apps will open and the system is running 512 of RAM-----

The path makes me think there was a program by Microsoft called Quill. Does
this sound familiar to anyone? I can't find anything thru Google.

Check your disks again and see if something has Quill in the name.

No, Quill is a Microsoft Shared DLL used by Outlook and Publisher.

Outlook 98, IIRC, (I think it was the PC version of Outlook 98 - but don't
quote me on that), installed by default a newer version of qs98.dll,
stopping Publisher 98 from working properly, making it claim that qs98.dll
was corrupted.

These are the files that are in the quill folder
PUB98: List of Files Installed by Microsoft Publisher 98
http://support.microsoft.com/default...58&Product=pub

As Ed advised, rename the Quill folder and drag the folder over or rename these files
and drag a new instances from your setup disk.

Msls2.dll 96016
Qrtf98.dll 103184
Qs98.dll 460560
