Default delivery receipt dosent work in outlook 2003

Since I upgraded to outlook 2003 I no longer get a deliver receipt
notification from the other persons mail server, I know I previous poster
said its down to individual settings, but I was under the impression
delivery receipt came from the mail server, nothing to do with the person
who you sent it to?
I often receive a read receipt even though I havent requested one, is
outlook asking for a read receipt instead of delivery receipt even though I
havent ticked for read receipt.

Martin

Yes this task is accomplished by Outlook:

Click Tools- Options- Email Options- Tracking Options- Select Read
Receipt or/ and Delivery Status Receipt.

Have a good weekend!

Default delivery receipt dosent work in outlook 2003

Hello Martin,

In addition to my previous message, I would like to provide the following
article for your reference:

192929 OL2000: Delivery Receipts and Read Receipts
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=192929

For your convenience I have attached the steps in this article:

To request a read receipt for a specific message:

1. On the View menu of the message, click Options.

2. Under Voting and Tracking options, click to select "Request a read
receipt for this message" and click Close.

To request read receipts on all messages you send:

1. On the Tools menu, click Options.

2. On the Preferences tab, click E-mail Options and then click Tracking
Options.

3. Click to select "Request a read receipt for all messages I send" and
click OK.

Have a good week!

Regards,

Mike Lin, MCSA MCDBA MCSE

From that it looks like you can only get a delivery reciet if you have
microsoft exchange installed, not sure why this has been changed, worked no
problem in outlook XP, I dont have or wish to have exchange.

Hello Martin,

Without Exchange, "Read Receipts" are still avilable but we cannot received
the "Delivery Receipts". This is becaused Exchange is required to track the
message delivery to send the "Delivery Receipt". I examined my initial
response and found I misunderstood your question. I apologize for that.

Hope this helps.

Mike,
Until recently I received delivery notifications using Outlook 2002.
Now I do not receive the notifications.
I do not and have not used Exchange. I have the delivery receipt checked
in the email delivery options.

What happened?
