Default Orienting a row of cells in Word Table

I've seen some tables printed where the top row is angled off probably 30
degrees to the right to enable text such as student names to be read easily
above their column. I know how to get the text to run the other way (bottom
to top) in the cell, but can the actual row of cells be angled to make
reading easier?? Is this possible in Word (or perhaps Excel)??

Word can't do this (vertical or horizontal are the only options). Excel can
do it through cell formatting. PowerPoint can too: put the text in a textbox
and rotate it.
