Default Please help with margins for a book

Hi,

I am creating a book that will be 8.25" x 8.25". I am trying to set up my
margins to include a gutter and then be able to print some pages out to see
if they look right. I am using standard 8.5" x 11" paper to print on. When I
do that the page layout doesn't look right to me. I have spent two days
trying to figure this darn thing out. Could someone please tell me how to do
this.

My settings in page setup currently a
Margins:
Top 0.5" Inside 0.5" Bottom 0.5" Outside 0.5" and Gutter .025"
It's set at Portrait
Multiple Pages: Mirror Margins
Apply to Whole Document

On the Paper settings it is:
Custom Size: 8.25" wide and 8.25" high
Apply to whole document

On the Layout tab it is:
Section start: odd page
Headers and footers
Different odd and even
Header: .25" and Footer: .5"

Can anyone figure out what I'm doing wrong and how I need to fix it?

Thanks.
Marg
