Difficult Question : Multi-User Environment
I have an Access 03 database split and saved to a network drive. I’ve created
a specific MDE file for each user. For some unknown reason, some people can open the database and connect to the backend without a problem and some people cannot. I have three users currently connected without an issue. When I try to open the MDE from my desktop the front-end or MDE cannot access the backend because it says the backend is already in use. Why can some users access the backend while others cannot? Any idea what I’m missing? Thanks, Jason |

Also make sure that each user has Read, Write, Create, and Delete privileges

Difficult Question : Multi-User Environment
The default open mode is set to Shared. Default record locking is set to No
Locks and the check box for Open databases using record-level locking is unchecked. This problem would make sense if only one person could connect but I have multiple people connecting without a problem. This would imply I suppose that the issue is with the specific computers that cannot connect. Any ideas as far as what I could or should look for would be greatly appreciated. Difficult Question : Multi-User Environment
Because I'm one of the users and the owner of the network folder, that should
not be the problem. This is a strange one - and a serious problem. Difficult Question : Multi-User Environment
Could this be the problem? I found a check box that was checked off in a
working version but is now unchecked. Tools Options [Tables/Queries] tab - Show Property Update Options button is the setting. I don't know what this setting is for or if it could be causing the problem. I see it has something to do with table settings so maybe?
