Default Menus on forms for data entry???

Hi

Is it possible to enter data in a field by clicking on menu items, rather
than using a combo box or list box or manually typing the value.

What I would like is a menu which operates in the same way as the menu bar
on all windows programs. The command button (or toggle switch) is clicked, a
small form (?) is opened which contains a list of items that can be
selected. I would also like some or all of these to have little arrows near
the side of the form indicating those menu items with subitems. Ideally, a
user would open the suboption form by holding the mouse over the "parent"
option for a few moments.

I realise this may not be possible on access, but if it is, would someone
please point me in the right direction.

Thanks
Anthony
