dialing rules confusion
In Outlook 2002 SP2, I recently started using the dialing function in
Outlook's Contacts and I found out that I had to use the Dialing Rules function. But confusion all over, and neither Outlook's Help nor the Web has given me any proper guidline! How should I set up Dialing Rules in order for Outlook's AutoDialer facility to dial both local, national, international and mobile numbers. Circumstances: - I have all my contacts tel nos (incl local ones) in international format (e.g. +27 31 1234567) - I dial out directly = home tel = no first "0" to have outside line etc I tried as follows: - in Dialing Properties, I created a New Location - in Edit Location/General, I entered the Country (South Africa)and the my city code (31) - in Dialng Rules, I didn't fill in anything - in Edit Location/Area Code Rules, I created an Area Code Rule - I again entered the Area Code (strange to do it again.....), selected "Include All Prefixes", under Rules selected "Dial" and entered "0" (to make an area code 011 rather than 11) and selected "Include Area Code". This setup works fine for a call to a local telephone, but for instance not to an mobile number in my country. Chaos!!! Please help. Wim Eising Outlook 2002 Windows XP |
