Yikes - Section Breaks and Table Numbering
Hi all,
I am running into an issue with section breaks and table numbering in a document (Word 2007). I have a report that includes pages in both portrait and landscape orientation, as well as numbered section headings. Wherever I've needed to change the order of my pages, I've inserted section breaks. I have a numbered chapter ("Heading1") on a "portrait" page that is followed by a table on a "landscape" page. I need to insert a caption for the table on the "landscape page", and the caption needs to include the Heading1 chapter number. The numbering shows up fine in the "Insert Caption" window (i.e., Table 3-1), but displays as Table 0-1 in the document. I think that I've severed ties to the chapter number by inserting a section break. In a nutshell: I'm not sure how to change page orientation without severing ties to my numbered headings. Does anyone know how to do this? Help would be much appreciated - I've been fighting with this for a while (and surfing for answers for even longer!). Thanks! |

Yikes - Section Breaks and Table Numbering
If the document contains blank paragraphs (which often happens if you add
section or page breaks), make sure those paragraphs don't have the Heading 1 style applied (with numbering suppressed). Instead, apply a non-numbered style such as Normal. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Form-ally Stumped!" wrote in message ...
