Default shape opens up massive!

Hi,
I am using Visio Pro 2003 and have been for some time now. I am producing a
floor plan. When I drag a straight staircase from my shapes onto the
document it loads up massively (larger than the page). All my other shapes
load up in the correct proportions.
Any ideas why would be most appreciated.
Cheers
Lenny

Some of the shapes are designed to be used on scaled drawings. Does your
drawing page have a scale?

The funny thing is that I have started a new floor plan with the same
settings as the other 50 that I have already produced with no problems.
