Unable to use an Access Linked table on a server
I have 2 Access 2000 mdbs placed on a server. The first uses a link to the
second. All works well when it is being run locally but when I place them on the sever it cannot find the path. I have opened the link properties and tried to change the path to a unc but it will have save the unc path. Can linked tables be used on a remote server using Access? If so, how do I overcome the invalid path issue? Thanks Dave |

" but it will have save the unc path"
What does this mean? Provided you change the path to point to the server directly, it should work. Obviously it wont work if you move the databases and don't change the link. -Dorian "Dave" wrote: I have 2 Access 2000 mdbs placed on a server. The first uses a link to the second. Unable to use an Access Linked table on a server
I'm sorry, I cannot save a UNC path.
I am hoping that the table linked too can be updated locally and then moved to the server and the link remain in place. Thanks dave "mscertified" wrote in message ... I are attempting to edit the linked path in the table design or in the
linked table manager. Using the linked table manager has always allowed me to use the UNC. -- Duane Hookom MS Access MVP "Dave" wrote in message ... I'm sorry, I cannot save a UNC path.
