Default Distribution lists in alphabetical surname order

I have a Contacts file containing hundreds of names, and I need to produce a
series of distribution lists, one each for surnames starting with each letter
of the alphabet i.e. Distribution list A (surnames beginning with A),
Distribution list B (surnames beginning with B) etc. But the 'Select Members'
dialogue box in the Distribution list only seems capable of displaying names
in first name order, making it impossible to do this without painstakingly
going through hundreds of names and picking out the right ones. Is there a
way around this?

Assuming the FileAs is last, first, you need to change the address book
settings - http://www.slipstick.com/tutorials/c...s/contacts.htm - shown
in last screenshot.

Or create a custom view in contacts with just the display name and email
address fields and copy and paste into a DL. See
http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/copy_data.htm.
