Default Is there a "viewer" for *.pub files?

Is there a "viewer" or "reader," a la Adobe Reader, that people without
Microsoft Publisher can use to read a file created in Publisher?

JoAnn,

I thought one could get a demo version of Pub that basically reverts to
a viewer after the demo period is over?

Microsoft states in the knowledge base article if you don't activate, Publisher
becomes no more than a viewer. Can't say it would be my choice of a way to get a
viewer...

They would have to pay for it though (

I've heard that but I've never heard from anyone who tried this. And, as
Brian says, you have to pay a shipping fee for the CD. Plus there's the time
you lose waiting for the CD to arrive. Most people who are asking about a
viewer need it now. Plus I suspect some of them need more than just a
viewer.

While waiting for decisions from his 6 university choices, Ed sees a
message from Mary Sauer . On it is written:

choice of a way to get a viewer...

The Demo version of most Office apps is exactly the same as the full
version, except that the activation technology times out the activation
after 30 days (maximum 4 uses before the activation is required, then you
have 30 days)
