Word New Document number keeps increasing
I just noticed that last few days that every time I open a new blank
document, the name of the document, "Document __" keeps increasing. I do a lot of cutting and pasting into a new blank documents and then save it under another name. Usually when I open a new document from my desktop shortcut, the new blank document is named "Document 1."

Word New Document number keeps increasing
If you close then re-open Word and the number is incremented (note Word can
