Default LDAP Lookup

Hey all,

New here but I can't find the information I'm seeking. Basically I want
to use my University's LDAP service to look up contacts when e-mailing.
I have currently put in all the settings and can look people up -
great.

However if I want to search for anyone I have to go into an advanced
search and type their surname in as I guess my Uni doesn't use the
Nickname field. My Uni's field names etc are freely available he

Can I set it so that rather than having to do an advanced search every
time it will default to searching Surname? (i.e. can I map Nickname (or
whatever the default field is) onto Surname). Mulberry used to be able
to look up anything but I guess it examined every field. Do I have to
set the fields up manually somehow?

Any help is much appreciate. Regards,

Rich
