Default importing without duplicates

In Microsoft Outlook 2003, I am importing from Excel spreadsheets, trying to
consolidate info. I mark "replace duplicates", but it just adds them. So I
have two entries for the same person. What can I be doing wrong?

Thanks - I misunderstood and thought as long as the full name was the same,
it would be conisidered a duplicate. I was trying to replace several records
at once that had new contact information. It's not as smart as I thought!
(nor am I).

You are correct - it's not very smart. It's better in Outlook 2007, but the
older versions do have problems detecting duplicates to varying degrees.
