Is there such thing as an eye dropper tool in Visio?
I'd like to take a colour from an existing shape or picture and make it my
default colour for drawing a shape. As far as I know all I can do right now is go into Photoshop, get the RGB value for the colour, and then manually specify my new colour in Visio. It would be so great to discover a faster way to do this! |

You can drill down from any of the colour choice controls. They usually
start with a list to select from. If you choose the last entry, More colours...., you get a colour palette wit the RGB setting. You can also read the values from the ShapeSheet. If the value is in HSL(), you can switch to RGB() by changing the display of the shapesheet cells to value rather than formula. -- John... Thanks John, but I was looking for something a little less manual. I know I
can drill down and choose RGB from the colour palette but I'm looking for a solution for when I don't know the RGB value in advance. For instance, often there's a colour that I just want to grab from an image in my drawing, so I can make a shape match its colour. All the drawing programs allow this with an eye-dropper tool, but it's sounding from your note that nothing like this exists in Visio. Thanks anyway!
