Default Vlookup

Hi,
I am using a vlookup function to retrieve values from a another
spreadsheet. However not all the values that I am searching for may be
on this spreadheet. If a value is missing then the administrator will
have to find the value elsewhere and then overtype the the vlookup
formula. This causes an issue in so far that the next time the
spreadhseet is opened the vlookup formula will be missing from one of
the cells.

Has anybody got any ideas that will allow me replace this formula
automatically when the spreadsheet is next opened?

Thanks
Simon
