What is an "interactive" powerpoint presentation?
I have been asked to create an interactive PPT lesson plan (I am a
teacher)presentation with website links. I know how to put links into a powerpoint, but I am not sure what they mean by interactive other than someone clicks on the links and the sites come up. Is there more to an "interactive" presentation than that? |

What is an "interactive" powerpoint presentation?
My interpretaion (and thats all it is!) is one with links and triggered
animation so that the user selects a non linear path through the presentation istead of just clicking. You could ask whoever asked what THEY mean by interactive. -- email john AT technologytrish.co.uk "Glass" action buttons - http://www.technologytrish.co.uk/pptbuttons.html Personalised calendars - http://technologytrish.co.uk/calendars "TraceS" wrote: I have been asked to create an interactive PPT lesson plan (I am a teacher)presentation with website links. What is an "interactive" powerpoint presentation?
"Interactive" to me means the audience gets to interact with the
presentation and can control how it goes. As John mentioned, hyperlinking around your presentation does that. However, if you want some games and/or CBT samples, check out the two links below for some free downloads. Make sure you read the bold text next to the image to set your macro security. http://www.pttinc.com/ppgame.htm http://www.pttinc.com/cbt_development.html -- Bill Foley Microsoft PowerPoint MVP Microsoft Office Specialist Master Instructor www.pttinc.com "TraceS" wrote in message ... What is an "interactive" powerpoint presentation?
I'll speak "authoritatively" as someone who has assigned such things.
Generally, I give more specifics in the assignment, but I generally mean to include hyperlinks to other slides and possibly to other documents and Web pages. The idea is to avoid the linear movement from one slide to the next to the next. This could be for a presenter who might have several options to follow or for users to sit down in front of the computer to navigate themselves. I usually show my students a simple presentation with a title slide and a menu slide. The menu has links to other slides in the presentation and each of those slides links back to the menu. This is probably the simplest form of interactive presentation, but MUCH more is possible. --David -- David M. What is an "interactive" powerpoint presentation?
why not try an interactive presentation may combine with quizzes. no
matter real-time quizzes or summarizing quizzes would boost your presentation as an engaging courseware. quizzes can help reviewing knowledge, and solidifying your instruction. you could make amazing interactive flash quizzes with Macrosoft flash to incorporate with the presentation, but it requires programming expertise. a quiz tool would help you much. try Wondershare QuizCreator, it will give you aid for making off the drudgery. this little pretty helped me to make my own little quiz (for christmas amusing) with only four steps, choose the question type(8 types), enter the question, give the choices, and mark the correct answer. after all I published the quiz to my presentation, and shared it with my family and friends! we enjoyed it so much! you could also make your own one. besides, create the presentation in flash format would be more convenient for interaction. the company has another solution for this issue. if you are interested, you can visit: http://www.sameshow.com, for more details. hope my answer is helpful. best wishes TraceS wrote: I have been asked to create an interactive PPT lesson plan (I am a teacher)presentation with website links. What is an "interactive" powerpoint presentation?
There are two aspects to understand the connotative meaning of
Interactive 1. The presentation content is interactive That means tha presentation is not text-only. Multi media are well integrated into the textual content for effective information delivery .. Adding video/flash/pictures/audio as the interactivity is a good way to make a interactive presentation. 2. The learning process of the presentation is Interactive When a viewer plays the prensentation, he/she will not be forced to take in the infomation without any interaction with the presentation. Instead, he/she learns the presentation through a interaction process. For example, you can use some interactive modules in the presentation to explain and stimulate rather than text description. Also adding a quiz to a presentation for viewers works to enhance his/her learning through interaction . Ask he/she to take a quiz and you can mesure their learning progress. These understandings of Interactive quizzes root form my presentation expenrience and hope it helps. -------- -------- Rapid E-learning Suite----------- http://www.sameshow.com/index.php?sid=5 Convert PowerPoint to E-learning Courseware for LMS Create interactive quizzes to enhance learning TraceS wrote: I have been asked to create an interactive PPT lesson plan (I am a teacher)presentation with website links. Interactive can mean so many different things but for lesson plans, it's a great idea to provide students with material that they can interact with in a way that provides them with the ability to navigate a presenation in a non-linear manner.
You can of course manually add hyperlinks from one slide to another (or many others) in PowerPoint. But if you want to create a non-linear presentation with a tree or hierarchical structure, it can be very time consuming to do this manually, especially when you start having more than 10 slides since the number of links you need to manage is an exponential function of the number of slides. One alternative is to use an add-in such as ActivePresentation Designer (available at http://www.activepresentation.com) to create the tree structure and links across the slides in your presentation. This adds a multi-levelled interactive non-linear menu bar (like a Web site) to the top or bottom of your slides and you can click on the items in the menu bar to jump to various slides in your presentation.
