Default HOW DO I CREATE HOT BUTTONS USING F-KEYS?

I have a worksheet in excell that uses the same information in a couple of
colums, instead of being repeatitive and having to enter a phone number each
time can I create a short cut by using an f-key? This was done at one of my
previous employers but I don't know how they did it.
