Multiple signatures in OL 2007
In OL2003 and earlier, I used the signature function to insert short boiler plate text, and I could choose from several graphic logos for the top and several closing signatures for the bottom in any combination right from the signature function. I found this much better and more flexible than using stationary. In OL2007, messages except only one signature. When you insert another one, the existing one dissappears. Why, why, why did they change that and is there any way to around it? -- tryeager http://forums.slipstick.com |

Does not happen in my Outlook 2007. Are you using Word as the message
editor? How are you attempting to change the signature? -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. ALWAYS post your Outlook version. Might I suggest you use the Quickparts/AutoText feature instead. That
would be inline with what you are actually doing and that is what it was designed for. tryeager wrote: In OL2003 and earlier, I used the signature function to insert short boiler plate text, and I could choose from several graphic logos for the top and several closing signatures for the bottom in any combination right from the signature function. Multiple signatures in OL 2007
Thanks to all regarding the Quick Parts which I hadn't discovered. That solves the problem. To continue my lesson, would someone tell me where the Quick Parts are stored and what extension they use? Comparing Quick Parts to Signatures, am I right that the only difference is the one signature per message behavior I described and the optional automatic insertion for signatures? Milly, I've always just used the OL editor and was surprised to find that you OL2007 has only the Word editor. I'm happy with it, though, (so far) since it loads faster than in previous versions. I was just selecting the sigs from Insert-Include-Signature drop down box. (I was not using an automatic signature.) I see on May 5, [Quick parts text overwritten when Signature is applied] that Paul noticed that inserted Signatures replace Quick Parts just as my observation that Sigs replace Sigs. It seems the smart thing to do, is to just use Quick Parts only, since QPs will not replace existing QPs. Any further comments? -tryeager tryeager;145644 Wrote: In OL2003 and earlier, I used the signature function to insert short boiler plate text, and I could choose from several graphic logos for the top and several closing signatures for the bottom in any combination right from the signature function.
