Default Problem updating

When I try to update one of my forms, it gives me a message in the status bar
at the bottom stating, "To make changes to this field, first save the
record". I must first hit the escape key to allow updates. Upon doing this,
the pencil icon at the side of the form changes to a triangle. What am I
doing wrong??

Thanks

Are you trying to make changes to the form design while is it in Form view?
It sounds as though you are entering data and making form changes at the same
time. If so, try changing to design view and make your design changes there.

Well I usually change into design view to make changes, however, at times I
will make a change to a field property while in form view. Is this causing
the problem? If so, how do I fix what I already have?

Thanks
