Wizard which pops up after initial sign-in
I received a call from a client who has had a database I designed in
operation for about 6 years – no problems. The routine is that the user signs in giving her login name and password, and then is asked for the database password and then the database opens. What happens now is she signs in with her name and password and then some kind of a wizard appears and seems to be asking for a way of creating a database report. That is the impression I get. I did give directions and ask for a screenshot to be pasted into a Word document and sent to me but that was beyond her skill set. I’m going down on Friday to have a look, but wondered if this rings any bells for anyone. What surprises me is that each time she closes and reopens she winds up with this same wizard. I am thinking of making a copy of the database and trying to open the copy or trying to import the database into a new database. I just wonder if anyone has any insight into what this wizard which prevents her from getting to the database password window might be. I thought it would help me if I had a clue. I haven’t gone the Remote Assistance route because she has a dial-up connection and that would be a problem. Thanks for any insight. Mary |
