They should be in the Sent Items folder of your default message store. You
can move them from there into an IMAP folder to sync them back to the
server.

To what is the "Save copies of messages in Sent Items folder" set to?

What view is used on those Sent Items folders?

Did you enable auto-archiving? If so, what are the global settings for
it? In the properties for the folder(s), what are its auto-archive
settings?

What add-ons or plug-ins have been installed for Outlook?

John,

Open Outlook Tools Options General tab Email Options Make sure "Save
copies of message in Sent Items folder", is checked.

If this setting was not checked, then you probably do not have a copy of the
messages you have sent through the IMAP acct.

That's because you've set Outlook to save Sent emails LOCALLY in the pst
file.
You need to tell Outlook to save sent messages in the Sent Items on the
server.

Do Tools-Account Settings and on the Email Tab highlight the IMAP account
(if you have more than one). Then click on "change", click on More Settings,
go to the Folders Tab and change the setting there.

Sorry, but no. That's not available in Outlook 2003, which is what the OP
says he's using.

For Outlook 2003, the only way to do this is via an outgoing rule that moves a
copy to the server-side Sent Items folder. A side effect of this will be that
the outgoing messages will appear as unread.

Ah thanks. I didn't realise it was different in 2003.
