Default Setting Default Font Using Word Editor

I am trying to change my default Outllook font while using the Word editor. I
have successfully made the change in the Normal.dot and email.dot to Verdana,
but when I open a blank email it always comes up with Arial as default.

If I turn-off the Word editor, and open a blank email it comes up as Verdana.

For some reason using the Word editor won't allow Verdana to be used as a
default font.

Are there any fixes to this?

I am using Windows 2000 and Office 2000.

Thanks in advance.
