Default viewing Word -print layout - no white space at top. how 2 fix?

having trouble with Word 2003. When viewing doc in print layout, there is
no white space at the top of the paper. it appears as if there is no margin.
when i print, however the margin is ok. how can i get the view corrected? i
want to see what looks like a piece of paper (normal print layout) when
working in Word.
