Telephony problems
Hi
I am trying to use Contacts to dial phone numbers directly via my Compaq Presario Laptop (Conextant 56K Ac Link Modem on Com3). Testing by dialling my own mobile I can hear dialling tones. When other phone answers nothing can be heard on it and I can hear nothing on my headset. I have checked headset and earpiece is working into computer using Control Panel/sounds and audio devices/voice Test Hardware and can see meter movement and hear speech. Could someone point me in the direction of solving this problem. Many Thanks David -- David |

It expects a modem to connect with another modem. -- Brian Tillman |

Telephony problems
What function is the "Call Contact" faclility supposed to serve then?
Is it only intended to work when there is a modem at the other end and not to a regular PSTN handset? Is there a way around this? Many thanks -- David "Brian Tillman" wrote: David wrote: I am trying to use Contacts to dial phone numbers directly via my Compaq Presario Laptop (Conextant 56K Ac Link Modem on Com3).
