Default Problem installing MS 2000 in Microsoft 98 Operating system

I am getting errors trying to install MS 2000 onto my
Microsoft 98 2nd Edition operating system!!
Can anyone help?? I have never had a problem before.
Here are the 2 errors I keep getting:

error 1308 source file not found: D:\SETUP.HLP. Verify
that the file exists and that you can access it.

Error 1311 Source file not found: D:\OFFICE1.CAB. Verify
that the file exists and that you can acess it.

If anyone can help I would be forever grateful!!!!

Hi Denise,

RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, copy the contents of the Office CD to a folder on
your hard disk or to a network share, and then run Office Setup from this
folder. To do this, follow these steps:
On your desktop, double-click My Computer.
Double-click the local or network drive on which you want to create a new
folder.

-or-

On the Tools menu, click Map Network Drive, type a server and share path,
click OK, and then double-click that network drive.
On the File menu, point to New, and then click Folder.
Type a name for the new folder, and then press ENTER. For example, type
OfficeXPCD.
Insert the Office CD into your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive. Hold down SHIFT as
you insert the CD to prevent Setup from starting automatically.
In My Computer, right-click the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and then click
Explore.
On the Edit menu, click Select All.
On the Edit menu, click Copy.
Right-click the folder that you created in step 3, and then click Paste.
When all the files have been copied to the new folder, quit all other
programs that are running, and then double-click Setup.exe in the folder
that you created in step 3 to start Windows Installer and Office Setup.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the Office installation.

Please let me know has this helped You...
Thank You...

Hello Raghu
Thx you again for your help!
I did manage to follow all of your steps! At the very
end, I was able to double click the windows installer and
it seemed to load properly. However when I double clicked
the setup file I got an error: Could not find a package
to install on the installation media.
Would you happen to have any ideas in what I should try I
would be MOST grateful for any additional help!!

Thx again
Denise

Default Problem installing MS 2000 in Microsoft 98 Operating system

Hi Denise,

I was just looking at the Microsoft Knowledge Base Articles, i found an
article that would help you...Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 228677
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;228677

RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, perform the Office 2000 administrative
installation into an empty folder.

If you want to retain the administrative installation of your earlier
Office product, move the files in the administrative folder into another
location, and reperform the administrative installation to install the
earlier Office product back into the same folder.

MORE INFORMATION
For more information about creating an administrative installation point
for Office 2000, please see the following page on the Microsoft World Wide
Web site:

http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/2000/two/30t2_1.htm

Please let me know if i can of further assistance...
