Default Visio 2007 Freezing when saving

Whenever I attempt to save work done or save a new file, Visio freezes,
crashes, and loses everything. I have started it in safe mode with the same
results. Any suggestions?

Oh, and I should mention that I have attempted a repair, and a full reinstall
with no success.

Have you installed a service pack?
Which OS are you using?
On a local or network drive?
Can you Save As a graphics format?

No Office service pack- the OS is XP Pro SP2. I am working off of my local
drive, and when I click File--Save As... the app crashes, so I haven't
gottent to the point that I can specify the type of save.

That's the biggest clue I think. Something Serious is suspect with
your system setup somewhere.
Perhaps some addon has grabbed hold of the save vector.
I wonder if the default save path is generating a problem -
menu Tools - Options - Advanced - File Paths
and check the Drawings path. While you are there check the other
paths, do you have any suspect addons being loaded?

Also look in the menu Tools - Addons

In addition to Paul's comments, when you click save as, does Visio crash
right away, or do you get the popup window 1st? Rhetorical question, but I
assume that all of your other apps work fine.
