Default Slide Masters Changing Slide Layout

I have a PowerPoint presentation that contains two slide masters: one with
our company logo and one that is plain. I often have to switch between the
two slide masters depending on who we are sending the presentation to. Three
of the slides each contain two charts and some text (the text is in a
separate text box from the charts). When I switch between the two slide
masters, all the other slides look normal, except for those three slides.
When I make the switch, the charts and the text run together and overlap and
sometimes the size of the charts change, stretching out and covering up the
text. How can I maintain the same layout for those three slides for both
slide masters? Is there any way to prevent the charts from changing/moving?
The logo that we use on one of the slide masters is not very big (it's
basically a bar that runs along the bottom of the slide) so I don't think
that is what's causing the charts/text to move around. Thanks!

Probably either those slides have had manual formatting applied, which
overrides the master until it gets reapplied (which is what you're doing
when you switch masters, of course) or you're running into a bug.

If it's the former, create separate masters for the slides in question.

If it's the latter, the bug has to do with the slides picking up the
formatting from the first slide master in the list of masters, and not the
formatting from the master it should be using.

You can try rearranging the masters so that the one these three slides are
using is first in the list, but then you run the risk of other slide
screwing up.

You can copy the placeholders and paste them on the slides, realign them
with the placeholders and delete the original placeholders. Copying and
pasting a placeholder makes it a regular textbox, which is why it no longer
responds like a placeholder, which in your case means it gets mucked up.
However, this might not work if your new design template formats the text
differently. If it is just really changing the background, though, this
might be the best solution.
